Welcome to Kafdrop! These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of kafdrop.com (the “Site”) and the services provided through it (“Services”). By using the Site or the Services, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site or Services.
Definitions
- “We”, “us”, “our” refers to Kafdrop and its operators.
- “You”, “your”, “user” refers to any person or entity accessing or using the Site or Services.
- “Content” means any information, data, text, images, messages, software, or other material provided via the Site or user submitted.
- “Kafka cluster”, “topics”, “consumer groups”, etc. reflect domain-specific terms relating to the functionality of Kafdrop as a web UI for Apache Kafka.
Use of the Site and Services
The Site provides a web UI to explore Kafka clusters, topics, partitions, consumer groups, messages in JSON/Avro/Protobuf, schema registry integration, etc.
- You agree to use the Site and Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
User Obligations
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any credentials or access you are given (if applicable), and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must not use the Site or Services in a way that violates any laws, infringes any rights, disrupts or interferes with the Site or any user.
If the Service allows controlling or modifying clusters, topics, etc., you must have sufficient authorization within your organization or cluster to do so. Mistakes or misconfigurations are your responsibility.
Intellectual Property
- The software underlying Kafdrop is open source (the upstream project is Apache-licensed)
- All trademarks, service marks, logos, and trade dress displayed on the Site are the property of their respective owners.
You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from Site Content except as permitted under relevant licenses or with our express permission.
License and Restrictions
- We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Site and Services solely as intended.
- You may not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive source code from any part of the Service (except to the extent permitted by law).
- You may not use the Site or Services to store or transmit anything illegal, harmful, infringing, or offensive.
Disclaimers & Warranties
The Site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee the Site or Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
We make no warranties that results of using the Site will meet your expectations, that any data will be accurate, or that defects will be corrected.
To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Kafdrop and its affiliates, officers, employees, partners or contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages (including loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill) arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Site or Services.
Our total liability under these Terms, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, shall not exceed the amount (if any) you paid to us in the past twelve (12) months for access to the Site/Services (if applicable), or, where you have not paid anything, the equivalent nominal sum.
Data & Privacy
- Any data you supply via the Site (including Kafka messages, topics, etc.) remains yours. We do not claim ownership over your data.
- We may collect usage statistics, logs, error reports, etc., to operate, maintain, and improve the Site. These may include technical data (IP address, browser type, timestamps, etc.).
- Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information. Please read it carefully.
Security & Access
If the Site is deployed in environments that require security (TLS/SSL, SASL, ACLs, etc.), you are responsible for configuring them properly.
We strongly recommend that in production environments you protect access to Kafdrop (e.g. via authentication, reverse proxies, network access controls) to prevent unauthorized access to sensitive data.
Modifications to Terms or Services
- We may modify or update these Terms at any time. If we do, we will post the revised Terms on this page with a new “Last Updated” date.
- Continued use of the Site or Services after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
- We also reserve the right to suspend, limit or discontinue any aspect of the Services at any time (e.g. for maintenance or for security reasons).
Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the Site or Services immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including breach of these Terms.
- Upon termination, your license to use the Site and Services ceases.
- Sections which by their nature should survive (e.g. intellectual property, limitation of liability, disclaimers) will survive termination.
Miscellaneous
If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that part will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the rest of these Terms remain in full force and effect.
- These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Site and Services, superseding any prior agreements.
